Property guardianship is an arrangement in which people are granted cheap accommodation in return for living flexibly in vacant properties. Having your property occupied by property guardians prevents the threat of squatting and other security risks associated with vacant property.

All property guardians must undergo an extensive vetting process along with a criminal record check, in order to prevent unsuitable candidates. 

A general condition is that the person must be responsible, flexible and ready to move at short notice, without dependents or pets. As property guardians secure empty buildings on a short-term contract, this is not a housing solution for families or people with dependents.

Fortress Protection survey the property and produce a general risk assessment, fire risk assessment, legionella assessment, facilities assessment and health and safety rating.

These assessments allow us to produce a detailed proposal and list of works required to bring the property up to current standards for sleeping accommodation.
